CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
DAILY CARE Counter Tops and Sinks
COUNTER TOPS
Do Not set Hot Pots and Pans directly onto the counter tops.
Use trivets provided or a wood trivet to place hot pots and pans on to protect surface.
Dish towels do not keep the heat from going through to the counter top.
Use a mild liquid dishwashing detergent or an ammonia-based cleaner. Most dirt and stains
can be removed with these cleaners on a daily bases.
Water marks can be removed with a damp cloth then towel dry.
Difficult stains can be removed with Clorox Clean-Up or a diluted bleach.
Surface can be disinfected with a household bleach and water diluted 1/1.
SINKS
Avoid pouring hot water directly into sink. Run cold water when pouring boiling water into sink.
Daily cleaning - Same as for counter tops.
Sink Maintenance - Fill sink 1/4 of the way full with a 50/50 water/bleach solution. Let mixture
sit for 15 minutes, then wash sides of sink and rinse bottom as solution drains. This only needs
to be done occasionally to remove stains.
GUIDELINES TO HELP PREVENT DAMAGE TO COUNTER TOPS AND SINKS
Chemicals - Avoid exposure of strong chemicals such as oven cleaner and paint removers.
If these chemicals come in contact with counter wash immediately with water.
Nail polish - Nail polish can be removed with non-acetone based remover then flush with water.
Heat Damage - Use a trivet or a wooden hot pad under hot pots and pans. Protect surface from heat-generating appliances such as crockpots and electric frying skillets.
Scratches - Do not cut directly on the surface. The material is scratch resistant not scratch proof.
REMOVING CUTS AND SCRATCHES
Sand with 180 or 220 grit fine sandpaper until the cut is gone. Then polish surface with
nonabrasive polish to restore finish.
Buffing pads left at installation are to be used by hand to remove surface scuffs or stains.
Use pads with a little water in this order: Red, Grey, and White. Use the white pad to bring out
the finish to match counter top.
